Pian di Novello - Abetone - Verginetta loop

A beautiful itinerary that partly unfolds in the beech wood forest of Pian di Novello, starting point of the beautiful forest that encircles Abetone and that follows a part of the cross-country ski course. From here, we arrive at a plateau called Verginetta, below the peaks of the Monte Libro Aperto Mountain, from which you can enjoy a breathtaking view. Some tracts are very steep and require great care descending them. In the summertime, this itinerary is ideal for cycling, but not after rain or bad weather. This route can be taken also starting from Abetone, since it is in the last portion of the loop that closes in Boscolungo/Consuma.
